Hot off of Meddle, OBC is a radical departure from the breadth of Echoes and One of These Days. Replete with poplength songs and more conventional arrangements, but by no means a sneak peek of DSOTM.

Wot’s…Uh the Deal rises to the level of Wish You Were Here, and if released after Dark Side, this track may have surpassed it in popularity. Top ten Floyd song of all time.
Verdict
Definitely worth listening to the album that preceded the magnum opus.
